99 Problems (VI)

I still believe that putting writing in front of people every day is crucial. But the way I've been going about it--the way I've been drafting and revising and getting pieces out--just isn't working.

Some days a certain type and length of piece demands to be written, and when that's the case there's no choice but to follow the piece where it leads. But the rest of the time? What then?

A what-if arose: what if I invented a new form? What if I limited myself to only 99 words?

  1. This new writing form will be like Twitter, but actually meaningful.

Also, each time I’ve read these “99 Problems” posts, I keep hearing that Jay Z song, except the lyrics are changed to:

If you’re having writing problems, I feel bad for you son
I got ninety nine problems, but writer’s block ain’t one

    1. Well, just think, if you use only ten letter words, you have (990+98=) 1088 characters. That’s WAY more expansive than Twitter.

(Hmmm. I wonder how close I could come to averaging 10 letters/word?)
