Free Refills is an online platform built around this simple truth: Scarcity is not true.
Also, and this is very important: scarcity is a lie.
That may look like two truths, but really it is one. The first is a subset of the second. We express it that way, with the smaller idea leading to the second, because the bigger truth is so big it's hard for people to grasp. It can even make people angry, that truth, because it forces us to reconsider everything about the system we live within. And some people aren't ready to face it.
This is going to look a little grandiose, written out, but it's true: Scarcity is a lie promulgated by the powers that be in order to justify a system in which most of the resources are in the hands of the very few.
The system has brought us, as a species, to this point: Our powers over the material world are vast. These powers have allowed us to produce vast riches. And yet we are on the brink of catastrophe, and we are doing nothing about it.
This system needs to change, and it needs to change now.
